HONOLULU — Coming off a sweep of its first conference road trip of the season, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team picked up two Big West Player of the Week awards on Monday.

Caylen Alexander was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season and
Kate Lang earned the Setter of the Week award for the second time in her senior season and the 13
th time in her career.
After missing a match for the first time this season, Alexander made an emphatic return to action by putting away 42 kills — averaging 5.25 per set — while hitting .405 over 74 total attempts in UH's wins at UC San Diego and Long Beach State. With UH down 2-0 at UC San Diego, Alexander took over by going 17 for 24 without an error over the third and fourth sets to help force a fifth. She was on the service line during a 7-0 run that gave UH command of the decisive set and the 'Bows
completed the reverse sweep. She finished with 24 kills in 43 attempts with a then-season high .372 hitting percentage in her eighth match with 20-plus kills this season.
Alexander then put together her most efficient performance of the season on Saturday at Long Beach State when she posted 18 kills in 31 attempts to hit .452 in
UH's sweep of the Beach. She also had an ace and posted 10 digs in her ninth double-double of the season. She was on the service line for a match-high 20 attempts and had a six-point turn in the second set and a four-point run in the third.
Alexander continues to lead the Big West with 5.00 kills per set and 5.51 points per set. She ranks third nationally with 290 total kills and is tied for third in kills per set. She's also fourth in total points (319.5) and sixth in points per set (5.51).
Lang distributed 76 assists, averaging 9.50 per set, on the road trip and moved up to fifth in program history with 3,822 for her career. After the Rainbow Wahine dropped the first two sets at UC San Diego, Lang directed the UH attack to a .421 hitting percentage (38 kills, six errors, 76 attempts) over the next three sets. She finished the night with 40 assists, nine digs, one kill, two block assists and an ace.
Against Long Beach State on Saturday, Lang posted 36 assists and a match-high 15 digs in her eighth double-double of the season. She had a six-point service turn in the second set to help lead the 'Bows to the sweep. After the first two sets at UCSD, Lang set UH to a .333 hitting percentage over the next six sets. She ranks second in the Big West with 592 total assists and third with 9.55 assists per set.
The Rainbow Wahine (9-5, 3-1 Big West) enter the week among six teams tied for first in the Big West standings and return to SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center for a two-match homestand this weekend. They'll face UC Davis (8-5, 3-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. and take on UC Riverside (5-12, 0-4) on Sunday at 5 p.m.
