HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Newcomer
Maline Kraus fired a 2-under 70 to pace the University of Hawai'i women's golf team at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, Saturday at the Highland Ranch Golf Club.
The Düsseldorf, Germany native posted six birdies on her round to help erase a triple bogey on the second hole. Kraus is 2-under 142 for the tournament after an opening round 72 on Friday and is tied for 13
th place along with teammate
Emiko Sverduk, who shot even par 72 on Saturday.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine are in 11
th place at 587 after a second round 294. Kansas State moved into the lead at 12-under 564 followed by UNLV (566), Colorado State (570), host Denver (574), and San Diego State (575).
Minnesota's Isabella McCauley holds the individual lead at 10-under 134, three strokes ahead of a group of three golfers, including former UH golfer Mayumi Umezu of UNLV.
