HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team closes its longest road trip of the conference schedule with a matchup against Cal State Bakersfield on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Icardo Center in Bakersfield, Calif. UH split the first two matches of the road trip with a sweep at Cal Poly on Oct. 18 followed by a loss at UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 19.

'BOWS NOTES
- Caylen Alexander led the UH attack in both matches last week and picked up her fourth Big West women's volleyball Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday after posting 38 kills, averaging 6.33 per set, at Cal Poly and UCSB.
- Alexander raised her conference-leading averages to 5.10 kills per set and 5.58 points per set. She enters the week third in NCAA Division I in total kills (362) and kills per set. She's fourth in total points (396.5) and fifth in points per set.
- Alexander is the first UH player to post at least 20 kills in nine matches in a season since Nikki Taylor also accomplished the feat nine times in 2015.
- Alexander's 362 kills marks her highest single-season total and raised her career total to 976.
- Setter Kate Lang entered the week with 3,988 career assists and is closing in on becoming the fifth UH player to reach 4,000.
- Lang entered the week second in the Big West with 758 total assists and second with 10.11 assists per set.
- Senior libero Tayli Ikenaga ranks third in the Big West with 285 total digs this season to raise her career total to 1,151. She entered the program's career top 10 at Cal Poly and moved up to ninth at UCSB.
- Middle blocker Jacyn Bamis has turned up her offensive production and efficiency over the last three weekends. The junior has 57 kills in 104 attacks and posted a .423 hitting percentage in UH's last six matches.
- After finishing off the road trip, UH returns SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center on Sunday, Oct. 27 to face CSUN.
THE MATCHUP
- CSU Bakersfield head coach Giovana Melo is in her 10th season leading the Roadrunners and has a career record of 128-162.
- UH has won all eight meetings with the Roadrunners in a series that began in 2015.
- UH has swept five meetings with CSUB, including the last three in a row.
- UH won in four sets at Bakersfield in 2021 and went to five sets in the 2022 visit to the Icardo Center.
- CSUB got out to a 3-1 start in the Big West season and are looking to snap a four-match losing streak, all coming in four sets.
- The Roadrunners dropped a home match with UC Davis on Thursday and fell at UC Riverside on Friday.
- CSUB leads the Big West with 138 service aces and 1.86 aces per set.
- Samia Bhakta is second in the conference with 31 aces and ranks third with 0.42 aces per set.
- Bhakta also leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big West with a .346 hitting percentage while averaging 1.73 kills per set.
- Sydney Dunning leads the Roadrunners and ranks fourth in the Big West with 3.50 kills per set. She's second in the conference with 259 total kills.
- Dunning is second in the Big West with 299 total points and is fourth in the 4.04 points per set.
- Katerina Georgiadis is second in the Big West with 3.90 digs per set.
