HONOLULU—University of Hawai'i softball head coach Bob Coolen announced the signing of both Brooke Camacho and Kayla Kostyk for the 2025 season.  Both will be incoming freshmen with four years of eligibility to play for the Green and White.
 
Camacho is a 5-6 catcher/outfielder from La Habra, Calif. and St. Paul High School (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.). She is a four-year varsity letterwinner in softball and earned three Scholar-Athlete awards. She plays for the West Coast Lady Dukes club team.
 
"Brooke is a strong outfield/catcher with a very live arm and great range in the outfield," says Coolen. She's a spray hitter that can hit to all fields but her speed is her weapon that stands out!"
 
Kostyk is a third baseman out of Chino Hills High School where she earned a pair of varsity letters in softball. She earned Offensive Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Most Imspirational honors with the Huskies. Over the last year with the West Coast Lady Dukes, Kostyk hit .460 with a .960 fielding percentage. 
 
"Kayla is a power hitting third baseman who has a good arm and very good range at the corner. She can definitely hit the long ball and is a very good student of the game!"
