Men's Basketball Takes On Rival Long Beach State On The Road

HONOLULU The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (10-7, 2-3) faces a challenging road slate when it heads to Southern California for a pair of games. First up is a meeting with Long Beach State (11-7, 3-3) on Thursday, Jan. 18. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. HT and the Walter Pyramid.

Following its game versus the Beach, the Rainbow Warriors will head south to take on UC San Diego on Saturday, Jan. 20 (4:00 p.m. PT/2:00 p.m. HT). The Tritons (11-6, 5-0) have started Big West play with a five-game win streak.

GAME STORY LINES
  • UH and Long Beach State face off in the 38th all-time meeting between the squads.   
  • UH has won five of the last six meetings between the teams and three of its last four in Long Beach. The last 10 matchups have been decided by single-digits.
  • At 2-3, UH sits in seventh in the Big West, a half game behind Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara who are tied for fifth.
  • The game will pit the league's top scoring offense in Long Beach State (80.1) versus the top scoring defense in Hawai'i (65.8).
