COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–USA Volleyball announced that University of Hawai'i women's volleyball alumnae and three-time U.S. Olympic team teammates, Robyn Ah Mow and Heather Bown have been voted as the 2024 USA Volleyball All-Time Great Female Indoor Athlete award winners. Together, the two Rainbow Wahine will be inducted into the USA Volleyball's 2024 Hall of Fame annual banquet ceremony on May 22 at the Hilton Polaris in Columbus, Ohio.
 
In all, four USAVB indoor volleyball greats will receive their All-Time Great Player Awards--Jeff Nygaard and Reid Priddy being the two male awardees  and Ah Mow and Bown earning the two women's awards. Ah Mow and Bown earned a silver medal in the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing and played together on three Olympic teams (2000, '04, and '08).

Ah Mow is a three-time Olympic setter (2000, '04 and '08) who made her debut with the Women's National Team in 1999. During her 10 years with the team, she won numerous medals including gold at the 2001 Grand Prix and at the NORCECA championships in 2001, '03 and '05.
 
Ah Mow played at UH from 1993-96. She earned AVCA All-America First Team honors in 1995 and '96 and was a three-time all-conference honoree (1994, '95 in the Big West and 1996 in WAC). In the UH record books, Ah Mow is still ranked No. 3 with 4,313 career assists and is ranked No. 4 with 11.23 assists/set. She also averaged just below a block per game in 1995 (0.96) and '96 (0.99) as a setter. She was a member of 1996 NCAA finalist team and in 2006 was inducted into the UH Sports Circle of Honor. Currently, Ah Mow is the head coach of her alma mater's women's volleyball team. She has led the 'Bows to four-straight Big West titles and six-straight NCAA appearances with an overall career record of 132-45.
 
Bown is a three-time Olympic middle blocker (2000, '04 and '08) who first played for the U.S. Women's National Team in 1999. She helped the team win gold at the Grand Prix in 2001, '10, '11 and '12 and at the NORCECA championships in 2001, '03 and '05 and '11. She also took silver at the 2002 World Championship.
 
Bown earned AVCA All-America First Team honors in both of her years as a Rainbow Wahine (1998, '99). She was also twice  voted WAC Player of the Year (1998, '99). She is still ranked at No. 1 in UH history with 1.95 blocks per set, No. 4 in hitting percentage, and No. 5 with 4.42 kills/set. Although she played only two seasons at UH, she is still in the Top 10 in career block solos (7^th-63), career block assists (9^th-373), and career total blocks (8^th-436). In 1999, Bown averaged a UH single-season record 2.25 blocks-per-set which led the entire NCAA that year. Bown transferred to Hawai'i after playing two years at UC Santa Barbara. Bown was inducted to the UH Sports Circle of Honor in 2008.
 
To receive the All-Time Great Player Award, an athlete must have completed a minimum of five years as a member of a U.S. national team and must have competed on a minimum of five top-level international teams. Top-level refers to Olympic Games, FIVB World Championship or World Cup, and NORCECA.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place one day before the 2024 USA Volleyball Open National Championship starts at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The proceeds from the event will go to the USA Volleyball Foundation to provide funding to support the Olympic & Paralympic dreams of the athletes in USA Volleyball's national team programs.
