LOS ANGELES — The University of Hawai'i diving teams opened competition in the Bruin Diving Invitational on Friday with senior
Juan Gonzalez posting UH's top finish of the day.
Gonzalez came in seventh in the men's 3-meter finals with a total score of 617.80. UH senior
Mackaby Pennington came in 10
th in the field of 18 divers in the finals with a total of 590.65. USC's Laurent Gosselin-Paradis won the event with a total of 734.65.

Elma Lund led the Rainbow Wahine in the preliminaries of the women's 1 meter with a score of 228.25 to place 26
th among the 67 entrants. Junior
Isabella Plantz posted a score of 224.60 followed by senior
Isabelle Lombardi at 222.20. The top 18 advanced to the finals.
The meet continues Saturday with the men's platform and women's 3-meter events.
