FORT COLLINS, COLO. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team opened the Ptarmigan Ram Classic with a score of 610 after the first two rounds, Monday at the Ptarmigan Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine carded rounds of 311 and 299 and currently sit in 10
th place.
Host Colorado State leads the tournament at 535 followed by Colorado (554), Fresno State (570), Cal State Fullerton (571), and Cal Poly (572).
Leading the way for the Rainbow Wahine were newcomers
Emiko Sverduk and
Jordyn Parr, who are each tied for 34
th at 4-over 148. Parr, a San Jose State transfer, posted the low round of the day for UH with a 2-under 70 in Round 2. Sverduk, a Washington State transfer, shot consecutive rounds of 74.
Also competing for UH were
Focus Jonglikit (77-76) and
Monica Johnson (82-79).
Wendy Song was forced to withdraw both rounds due to illness.
CSU's Sofia Torres and CU's Sabrina Iqbal share the 36-hole lead at 12-under 132, a new tournament record. CSU's 535 total was also a new tournament 36-hole record.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round beginning at 9:00 a.m. MT.
