PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team will compete in the Acrisure Invitational, a new multi-day college basketball tournament Friday November 24 and Saturday November 25 at Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs, Calif.
UH will take on UT Rio Grande Valley to open the tournament on Nov. 24 and will play either Arkansas State or San Diego the following day. The two-day event is presented by Visit Greater Palm Springs and Spotlight 29 Casino.
Tickets for the Invitational are available online at
acrisurearena.com and

UTRGV, out of the Western Athletic Conference, is looking to take a step forward this season after winning 15 games last year. The Vaqueros boast plenty of size with four players 6-10 or taller and an average roster height of 6-6. The frontcourt returns both of last season's starters in Ahren Freeman and Daylen Williams. This will be the first time since 2000 that UH will face UTRGV, which was formerly known as Texas Pan-American.
Arkansas State is entering its first season under head coach Bryan Hodgson, a former assistant and key recruiter at Alabama, where he helped the Crimson Tide to three straight NCAA Tournament bids. The Red Wolves return six players from last season's squad, including three of their top five leading scorers. Head Coach Steve Lavin's second year at the helm of the USD Torero's features the youngest team of his career with zero seniors and nine incoming freshmen following an 11-20 inaugural season.
The remainder of UH's non-conference schedule will be released soon.
