Rosenthal To Lead U19 Squad At World Championship

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming University of Hawai'i freshman Tread Rosenthal will lead United States at the U19 Boys World Championship which runs Aug. 2-11 in San Juan, Argentina.
 
Rosenthal, a 6-foot-7 setter from Manhattan Beach, Calif., is one of 10 returning players from the 2023 U19 Pan Am Cup squad that won gold in Guatemala City. Rosenthal was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
 
The Mira Costa High alum also was a member of the 2022 Pan Am Cup winning team which initially qualified for the 2023 World Championship. Rosenthal was named to the all-tournament team.
 
The U.S. are grouped with Costa Rica, Egypt, Argentina, and Serbia. A total of 20 teams are competing in this year's World Championship. The U.S. has never medaled in the championship and its highest finish was 10th place in 2009.
