HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team (30-23, 13-14 Big West) dropped both ends of Friday's Senior Night doubleheader to UC Davis (29, 20, 15-12 BW. The Aggies won the first game 6-1 and the season finale 5-2 at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

DH – Game 1: UC Davis 6, Hawai'i 1
Unforeseen heavy rains pushed back the start of the game about 15 minutes and a pair of rain delays totaled to almost an hour of stoppage as the Aggies pulled away for the 6-1 win.

UC Davis put up two runs to start the game on a double steal and an RBI-groundout.

In the fourth, UC Davis's Sommer Kisling hit an RBI-single to left to score pinch runner Gia Felice and in the fifth, an RBI-groundout by Libbie McMahan pushed Alyssa Ito across the plate for a 4-0 lead.

UC Davis' Anna Dethlefson hit a solo homer in the sixth to extend the Aggies' lead to 5-0.

In the sixth, Hawai'i loaded the bases with one out. Haley Johnson hit into a fielder's choice that erased Ka'ena Keliinoi at third but drove in Amanda Ajari from third.

UH starter Key-Annah Campbell-Pua dropped to 11-8 overall. She threw the first five innings, allowing four runs on five hits with four walks and a strikeout. Millie Fidge threw the next 1-1/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits with a strikeout. McKenna Kostyszyn got the final two outs.

UCD's Taylor Fitgerald improved to 6-4. She fired five shutout innings, allowing only three hits with three strikeouts. Caroline Grimes tossed the final two innings, giving up a run on one hit with a walk and four strikeouts.

DH-Game 2: UC Davis 5, Hawai'i 2
The Aggies posted two runs in the second. Delaney Diaz hit a solo home run and later with the bases loaded and two outs, a failed fielder's choice on a grounder to short by Leah Polson to drive in Grace Kilday.

In the third, UH's offense erupted for a pair of runs. Cira Bartolotti led off the frame with her fourth career home run. The opposite field shot sailed over the right-centerfield fence. Later with two outs, Ka'ena Keliinoi  drilled a shot to right field and raced around the bases for a stand up triple. Izabella Martinez followed with a line shot single that ricocheted off the pitcher into centerfield to drive in Keliinoi for the tying run.

In the top of the fourth, the Aggies immediately got the two runs back on an RBI double by Dethlefson and later UCD loads the bases and pinch-hitter Tatum Wentworth laced an RBI-single to right to score Dethlefson to go up 4-2.

The Aggies added one last run in the sixth on an RBI fielder's choice extending their lead to 5-1.

UH starter Brianna Lopez finished the season with a 16-12 overall record. She threw 5-1/3 innings allowing five runs on six hits with five walks and three strikeouts. Reliever McKenna Kostyszyn threw the final 1-2/3 shutout innings to close the game.
