Glagau and Van Sickle Gain Big West Weekly Nod Once Again

IRVINE, Calif. – University of Hawai'i beach volleyball players Kaylee Glagau and Brooke Van Sickle were named the Big West Pairs Team of the Week for the second consecutive week as the tandem continues to roll past its competition. It's the third time this season the duo has won the honor and the seventh time overall.

Facing a gauntlet of five straight nationally-ranked opponents this past week -- including three of the top five teams in the country -- the pair went an impressive 4-1. The week was highlighted by a 4-0 mark in the prestigious East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach in which the pair did not drop a single set.

Among the wins were victories over the top pairs of No. 4 Florida State and No. 5 LSU. Glagau and Van SIckle's 25-23, 21-16 win over LSU's Ellie Shank and Kylie Deberg cliched UH's 3-2 come-from-behind upset over the Tigers. The duo also defeated the pairs from No. 11 Georgia and No. 16 Florida International over the weekend. The lone setback on the week came in a road match at No. 2 UCLA.

Glagau and Van Sickle are a team-best 23-2 this season, including a 21-1 mark at the No. 1 position. The BeachBows return to action April 15-16 when it hosts Arizona and Georgia State in its final regular season home matches of the season at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. Van Sickle will be among a number of players to be honored during Senior Night festivities that weekend.
