DAVIS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (9-7, 2-2 Big West) was edged out by UC Davis (11-5, 4-0 BW), 4-3 to open their final regular season road trip of the season. The Aggies remain unbeaten at 4-0 in the Big West and sit atop the standings with UC Irvine who is 3-0 in conference. UH drops into fourth place in the BW standings down the season's homestretch. In the loss, 91^st-ranked Andre Ilagan won his 12^th-straight singles match on the No. 1 court, while UH's No. 2 doubles duo of Axel Labrunie and Kilian Maitre improved to 11-0.
 
For the 12^th time in 16 matches, the Rainbow Warriors captured the doubles point to start the match. After falling on Court #3, UH earned the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.  Hawai'i's No. 1 pair of Lucas Labrunie and Ilagan defeated Andras Necz and Brett Brinkman, 6-2 then Axel Labrunie and Maitre clinched the point by a break, defeating UCD's Mitchell Davis and Constantinos Djakouris, 6-4.
 
In singles, the match results hinged on the final match of the day. Prior to that, UH's Ilagan knocked off the Aggies' Djakouris in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 and later UH's No. 5 Vojta Vlkovsky battled his way back after dropping the first set to defeat Ryan Torres in three sets, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 to knot the match at 3-3. At No. 6, UC Davis' Mitchell Davis defeated UH's Maitre in three sets to clinch the match, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.
 
The loss snapped UH's four-match win streak against UC Davis.
 
Hawai'i will now head down the California coast for a Big West contest against 38^th-ranked UC Santa Barbara on Friday, April 14 at 12:00 P.M. HT at the Armhold Tennis Center.
