FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – All of Hawai'i's divers on both the men's and women's side advanced to finals Tuesday at the NCAA Zone E Diving Meet, but none were able to make the cut and advance to the NCAA Championships.
Each of UH's two men's divers,
Mackaby Pennington and
Juan Gonzalez, advanced to the finals of the 3-meter competition by finishing in the top 18 in the prelims but neither was able to make the top six and advance to the NCAA Championships. Pennington came in ninth with a total mark of 634.75, while Gonzalez finished 12th with a score of 613.05.
Elma Lund made it to the finals of the women's platform competition, but was unable to move on to NCAAs after coming in 18th with a mark of 438.55.
The competition at the NCAA Zone E Meet wraps up Wednesday with the men's platform event and the women's 1-meter competition.
