Glagau and Van Sickle Earn Big West Weekly Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – University of Hawai'i beach volleyball players Kaylee Glagau and Brooke Van Sickle were named the Big West Pairs Team of the Week after an undefeated run in the Big West Challenge this past weekend.

It's the second time this spring that the UH pair has won the award. It also marks Glagau and Van Sickle's sixth weekly recognition overall from the Big West after winning it a school and conference-record four times last season.

The All-American duo dominated its conference foes going a perfect 6-0 at the top of the order at the Big West Challenge in San Luis Obispo. They won four of its six matches in straight sets, including the clinching point in UH's 3-2 win over No.. 12 Long Beach State with a 21-15, 27-25 decision over Sydney Stevens and Julia Westby. That win secured an unblemished weekend for UH at the two-day, round-robing competition and extended the team's win streak to 18 straight matches.

Glagau and Van Sickle are a phenomenal 19-1 this season and have defeated 16 straight opponents for the fifth-longest win streak in program history.

The No. 8 Rainbow Wahine (20-3) remain on the road with five more matches this week, beginning with a showdown on the campus of No. 3 UCLA. First serve is 3:00 p.m. PT/12:00 p.m. HT.
