HONOLULU- The No. 5 Hawai'i women's water polo team closed out the weekend with a 16-8 win over No.24 San Diego State Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

Bia Mantellato Dias led the way in scoring in the first quarter, with a quick backhand shot into the net. The Wahine continued a fast-paced 2-0 run, before San Diego's Rose Kanemy netted a goal. The quarter finished out with
Emma van Rossum firing one to the net with one second left on the clock.
UH added another four to the scoreboard in the second quarter, with two power play advantage goals in the last two minutes of the quarter to take an 8-3 lead. The third quarter saw major action as the Wahine pressed on offensive play, with contributions by Mantellato Dias, van Rossum, and
Tara Logan on the powerplay. Taking a 7-point lead, UH kept momentum into the final quarter, with
Alia Burlock netting her first career goal with 1:08 left on the clock.
The Rainbow Wahine returns to Big West Play against rival No.7 Long Beach State on Thursday, Mar. 23 at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
