GOLD RIVER, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (3-6, 1-1 Big West) fell on the road against UC Davis, 4-2. Originally scheduled for Friday, due to inclement weather, the match was moved to the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center about 30 miles away from the UC Davis campus on Saturday.
The match started with singles. UCD and UH were tied at 2-2 before the Aggies notched wins at No. 2 and 5 to clinch the win. In the loss, Hawai'i's No. 3
Klara Novakova notched a three-set victory defeating Michelle Zell, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 and on the No. 6 court, UH's
Anna Kern defeated UCD's Carly Schwartzberg in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Hawai'i's match on Sunday at No. 54 California was canceled due to rain. The Rainbow Wahine will now head south for a pair of Big West matches at Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, March 14 and at Long Beach State on Thursday, March 16.
