HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team (16-8, 0-0 Big West) split their doubleheader on Day 3 of the OUTRIGGER Rainbow Wahine Classic. Hawai'i downed Iowa State 5-2 then were shutout by Fordham, 8-0 in five innings on Saturday at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Hawai'i starter Key-Annah Campbell-Pua earned a complete game win to improve to 6
-2 overall. She allowed two runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
In the bottom of the second,
Izabella Martinez drilled a solo home run over the centerfield fence. It was her third homer of the year and career and second of the week. Later in the frame, Xiao Gin laced a single that ricocheted off a diving second baseman that drove in both
Maycen Gibbs and
Cira Bartolotti to give UH an early 3-0 lead.
Hayley Johnson extended UH's lead to 4-0 after launching a solo home run to center in the third. It was Johnson's second round-tripper of the season and fifth of her career.
With the bases loaded in the top of the fourth, ISU's Sarah Tyree drilled a triple that bounced to the rightfield wall to score Alesia Ranches and Angelica Gonzalez. But on the play, a good relay from rightfielder

Izabella Martinez cut down the runner who was trying to score all the way from first for the second out.
Hawai'i added one last run in the sixth. With the bases loaded,
Cierra Yamamoto hit a grounder to short. The shortstop threw to third to get Gibbs on the force out but it allowed
Mya'Liah Bethea to score from third.
Iowa State starter Jaiden Ralston suffered the loss, dropping her record to 2-3. She gave up three runs on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in 1-1/3 innings pitched. Karlie Charles threw the next 1-2/3 innings giving up a run on two hits and Ellie Spelhaug threw the final three innings. She allowed one run on two hits with a strikeout.
Fordham 8, Hawai'i 0 (5 innings)
In the top of the first, Fordham hit a pair of solo home runs and scored another off an error that allowed the Rams third run to cross the plate. Then in the second, the Rams added another run off an RBI single by Neleh Nogay that drove in Sarah Taffet for a 4-0 lead.
The runs kept coming for Fordham, as they added two more runs in the sixth to cap their scoring at 8-0.
Three from Hawai'i's pitching staff saw action.
Chloe Borges got the start and the loss, giving up four runs on four hits with a walk and a strikeout in 1-1/2 innings of work.
Malia Williams was able to get an out after giving up two runs on one with with two walks.
McKenna Kostyszyn threw the final three innings, allowing just two runs on two hits.
Fordham's Emilee Watkins earned the win, shutting down the UH offense before going out with an injury. She threw the first 2-2/3 innings giving up just one walk and a hit. Bailey Enoch did not allow a run in 2-1/3 innings. she gave up just one hit while striking out five.
The Rainbow Wahine continue the OUTRIGGER Rainbow Wahine Classic on Sunday with a single game in a rematch against Iowa State at 12:00 p.m..
