High Winds Cancels Amer Ari Intercollegiate

WAIMEA, Hawai'i – For the second consecutive day, high winds wreaked havoc on the field at the 32nd Amer Ari Intercollegiate forcing the cancellation of the tournament due to unplayable conditions.

Wednesday's first round was canceled with most of the teams making the turn. The teams were scheduled to play 36 holes on Thursday, however, after only several holes and a one-hour delay, tournament officials decided to cancel the event with heavier winds expected on Friday.

The tournament was canceled for the first time in its history.

The Rainbow Warriors will now officially open the spring season with next week's John A. Burns Intercollegiate scheduled for Feb. 16-18 at the Ocean Course at Hokuala in Līhu'e, Kaua'i.
