BeachBows Head to Garden Isle For Inaugural Kaua'i Invitational

HONOLULU -- The nationally-ranked University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball team closes out its fall schedule with a highly-anticipated trip to the Garden Isle. UH will host the inaugural Kauai Invitational in a mix of competition and community outreach, Nov. 17-19 at Kalapaki Beach in Lihue.

The event will include three days of pairs and team competition as UH welcomes 2023 NCAA semifinalist Florida State as well as Big West rival Cal Poly.  The weekend will also be highlighted by a Keiki Play Day on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 8 am - 9:30 am. The interactive session will allow keiki to meet, greet and learn from players and coaches. Among those on hand will be 2008 Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers (Cal Poly) and two-time Olympian Nick Lucena (Florida State).

Admission is free for a weekend packed with elite women's beach volleyball competition.

"Getting the team over to Kaua'i to compete this fall is a dream come true," Hawai'i head coach Evan Silberstein said. "My vision is to integrate program outreach and neighbor island experience with our exciting brand of collegiate beach volleyball. It's a win-win for athletes and community alike. A big mahalo to Duke's Kaua'i, The Royal Sonesta and the local support for helping make this happen."
