HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team won five of six matches in the final day of the Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational. Friday's matches were the make up for last Saturday when the matches were postponed.
The Rainbow Wahine swept their three doubles matches against Hawai'i Pacific. UH's Ana Vilcek and Nikola Homolkova blanked HPU's Leonie Muller and Lynn Kader, 6-0. In the second match for the HPU duo of Muller and Kader, Hawai'i's Kaitlyn Ralar and Joelle Lanz won. 6-1. The Hawai'i duo of Nelly KNezkova and Sheena Masuda completed the doubles sweep with a 6-2 victory over the Sharks' Jayanne Palma and Sara Hejtmankova, 6-2.
In singles, Hawai'i's Sheena Masuda fired a shut out, blanking HPU's Muller, 6-0, 6-0. UH's Lanz battled back to defeat HPU's Hejtmankova in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Isabella Pamulov won her second set against HPU's Kader to force a third set, But Kader pulled away for the three-set win, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
The Rainbow Wahine will wrap up its Fall schedule against Stanford next week at the Fairmont Orchid Hawai'i in Kohala.
