Sverduk Sets New Scoring Record At Pat Harbottle Invite

TACOMA, Wash. – University of Hawai'i sophomore Emiko Sverduk set a new program record with a 7-under 65 in the final round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational Tuesday at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.
 
The Long Beach, Calif., native broke the previous record by one stroke, held by Hana Mirnik in 2021. Sverduk posted seven birdies with no bogeys on her round, which started with birdies on four of the first six holes. The Washington State transfer finished in a tie for 31st place at 6-over 222.
 
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine carded even par 288 and tied for 10th place with an 889 total. Grand Canyon won the team title at 866 to rally past first day leader Nevada by three strokes. Individually, Nevada's Leah John captured medalist honors with a 5-under 211 total, one stroke better than GCU's Carly Strole.
 
Wendy Song was UH's top finisher in a tie for 17th place with a career-best 54-hole score of 4-over 220 after a final round 75. Focus Jonglikit shot a final round even par 72 to tie for 36th place at 223. Newcomers Kellie Yamane and Jordyn Parr tied for 76th at 230 after firing 77 and 76, respectively, on Tuesday.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 23-25 to close out the fall season. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at Kapolei Golf Club on the island of O'ahu.
