Women's Tennis To Host San Jose State, Washington

HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (0-1) continues its homestand this week taking on San Jose State on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. and Washington on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11:00 a.m.. Both matches will be played at the UH Tennis Complex. For both the Spartans and the Huskies, their trip to Honolulu marks their season openers.

  NEWS & NOTES
  • Last week, the Rainbow Wahine fell in their dual match opener to a tough East Tennessee State squad, 5-2 on Thursday. Senior Satsuki Takamura, who missed the 'Bows opening tournament due to illness, made her season debut by winning both her singles match over  
  • Junior Madison Kim leads UH in singles with a 3-0 record. She recorded a pair of wins during the opening weekend's Weinman Foundation Invitational and was one of two UH players to notch a win against ETSU.
  • In doubles action, four Rainbow Wahine pairs have already notched two wins each--Kaitlyn Ralar/Ana Vilcek, Anna Kern/Kim, Nikola Homolkova/Klara Novakova, and Alexis Merrill/Rita Pinto.
  • This is the second and third of five dual matches during Hawai'i's month-long homestand to start the 2023 season.
