Box Score HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (0-2) fell to 20th-ranked Duke (1-0), 7-0 on Tuesday morning at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Blue Devils captured the doubles point to start the match, with Niroop Vallabhaneni and Faris Khan defeated UH's No. 3 duo of Lucas Labrunie and Andy Hernandez, 6-1. No. 49 Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang followed with a 6-2 win over Hawai'i's Andre Ilagan and Karl Collins on the No. 1 court.

Duke swept the singles matches, but Hawai'i kept fighting back. On the No. 1 court, Ilagan pushed 4th-ranked Garrett Johns in the second set, falling by just a break, 6-2, 7-5. UH's No. 4 Guillaume Tattevin was edged out in a second set tiebreaker, dropping his match to Vallahaneni, 6-2, 7-6 (3), while on the No. 5 court, Hawai'i's Hernandez fell in a hard fought first set via a tie-breaker as Duke's Jake Krug pulled away in the second set to seal the sweep, 7-6 (9), 6-2.

The Rainbow Warriors have 10 days before embarking on their first road trip of the season where they will take on UCLA on Friday, Jan. 20 followed by a series of four matches in Las Vegas, Nev. from Jan. 27 - 29 where they will battle UNLV, UC Riverside (in a non-conference match), Weber State and former WAC rival, New Mexico State.
