TEMPE, Ariz.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team for the seventh consecutive season. In addition, eight Rainbow Wahine earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors—

Madison Kim,
Kaitlyn Ralar, Léa Romain,
Nidhi Surapaneni,
Satsuki Takamura,
Ana Vilcek, and
Tal Talya Zandberg.
The Rainbow Wahine have been named an ITA All-Academic Team a total of 12 times (2002, '05, '09, '10, '11, '16. '17, '18, '19, '20, '21, and '22). Since 1983, the women's team has had 103 individual players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete awards at least once. For Kim, Romain, and Takamura it was the third time receiving the honor=.
The Rainbow Wahine were also named Hawai'i's Top Female Academic Team earlier this year with a combined 3.57 GPA.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements: have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
