SACRAMENTO, Calif.--After a month off, the University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (4-1, 0-0 Big West) returns to action at the Golden State Tennis Invitational. The three-match tournament, which is co-hosted by UC Davis and Sacramento State will run from Friday, March 11-12, 2022 at both the Sacramento State Tennis Courts and the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
Hawai'i will open the Invitational won Friday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m. playing at Sac State against Pacific. Later that same day, if the 'Bows win or lose, they will play the winner/loser of the Sacramento State vs. Nevada match. On Saturday, The third place match, fifth place match and chamionship match will all be played at 10:00 a.m. (site to be determined).
The Rainbow Warriors look to extend their four-match win streak as they open the tournament against Pacific (3-6, 0-0 West Coast). Hawai'i is led by 15th-ranked
Andre Ilagan who is 2-1 playing on the No. 1 court. UH's Killian Maitre,
Blaz Seric and
Guillaume Tattevin lead the 'Bows with a 3-0 record each.
The Tigers are looking to get back on the winning track after falling in their last two matches to Montana State and Boise State. Ran Amar leads Pacific with a 4-2 overall record playing at the No. 3 and No. 4 courts.
