HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field squad heads to Northern California, where the team will split up for the first time between the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and the Stanford Invitational.
 
The weekend's events begin in San Francisco at Cox Stadium on Thursday and run through Saturday for the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
 
UH, athletes participating in this event include junior Sophia Morgan, who is coming off a win two weeks prior in the 3000-meter steeplechase, where she ran 11:10.89.
 
Joining her will be the likes of sophomore Natasha Tehrani, who has had a top-6 finish this season at the Beach Opener, where she cleared 11'7".
 
Other UH athletes will be participating in the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
Sophomore Hallee Layman is coming off first place in the discus at the Hornet Invite and looks to keep the momentum into the coming weekend. She last posted a mark of 166'7" and climbed into the Hawai'i history books at the number six spot all-time.
 
Freshman Lilian Turban leaped her way to a first-place finish at the Beach Opener in the high jump event, where she held the NCAA mark for nearly two weeks at 5'10"
 
The team participated in the 4x400m relay in 2019, where they posted the fastest time since 1984 at 3:39.10. Kristen Lacosse was a part of the team and is an event to keep your eye on.
