PHOENIX, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team was on the golf course as play was suspended in the second round of the first day of the GCU Invitational Monday at the GCU Golf Course.
The teams will conclude the final holes of Round 2 Tuesday morning before beginning the third and final round.
Currently, the Rainbow Warriors sit in 11
th place with an 8-over team total, 21 strokes behind host and leader GCU. UH's top individuals are freshman
Pierce Braun and
Atsuya Oishi, who are at even par for the tournament and tied for 28th place. In the second round, Oishi is 3-under while Braun, a GCU transfer, is 2-under.
As a team, GCU is 13-under while UT Arlington's Kyle Cox holds the individual lead at 8-under.
UH shot an opening round 293 and were tied for 15th entering Round 2. Freshman
Tyler Ogawa had an opening round 72 to lead the 'Bows.
The tournament wraps up on Tuesday.
