WAIMEA, Hawai'i – Freshman
Tyler Ogawa carded a first round 1-over 73 to lead the University of Hawai'i men's golf team at the prestigious Amer Ari Invitational Thursday at the Hāpuna Golf Course.
Ogawa's round featured four birdies, including his opening and closing holes. The Honolulu native was 2-under through his first six holes before a bogey and double bogey on hole Nos. 10 and 12, respectively. He got to even par after a birdie on the No. 15 but bogeys on No. 17 and No. 2 put him at 2-over. The freshman is currently in a tie for 69
th place.

Ratio Visuttipinate is one stroke back at 2-over 74 and is tied for 78
th. Rounding out the team are

th).
No. 3 Arizona State leads the 19-team field at 20-under 268 with a group of three teams five strokes back – No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 21 Washington, and No. 4 Oklahoma State at 273. Co-hosts UH and UH-Hilo are tied for 18
th at 308.
ASU's Mason Andersen and James Leow hold the top spot in the individual leaderboard at 7-under 65.
Friday's second round begins with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Hāpuna Golf Course.
