HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (1-3, 1-0 BWC) hosts Cal State Fullerton (4-2, 2-0) in UH's first home conference match of 2022. The teams will square off on Saturday, Feb. 26 with the first serve set for 11:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine are returning home after playing three dual matches in the San Diego area last week, posting a 1-2 record.
After getting swept at San Diego, the 'Bows bounced right back the following day to win its first dual match of the season. UH downed UC San Diego in a conference match, 6-1. The Rainbow Wahine lost the doubles point to the Tritons, but came roaring back to sweep all six singles matches without dropping a set. Hawai'i ended its three-game road swing through Southern California with a 5-2 loss at San Diego State. The match was much closer than the score indicates as five of the singles matches going to three sets. Both
Tal Talya Zandberg and
Gitte Heynemans both recorded a 2-1 record this past week to lead the 'Bows. Heynemans leads Hawai'i with a 3-3 overall record with teammates Léa Romain,
Satsuki Takamura,
Ana Vilcek and Zandberg all have two wins apiece.
The Titans are coming off a 5-2 win at UC San Diego this past Sunday. They will actually play a doubleheader on Saturday as CSUF will play Hawai'i Pacific prior to the match against the Rainbow Wahine.
