Men's Basketball Faces UC Irvine In Key Big West Contest

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (13-8, 7-3 Big West) takes on UC Irvine (12-7, 6-3) in a critical Big West contest on Saturday, Feb. 19. Tipoff is 1:00 p.m. PT/11:00 a.m. HT at the Brenn Center.

The Rainbow Warriors and Anteaters are jockeying for position in a clustered top-half of the Big West standings. While Long Beach State sits at the top with a 10-1 mark, just one game separates the second through fourth-place teams. UH currently sits in third place, a half-game behind second-place Cal State Fullerton (15-8, 8-3) and a half game ahead of fourth-place UC Irvine.

The Anteaters have won six straight games and are one of the top defensive teams in the national stats. UH, meanwhile, is coming off a pair of dominating defensive efforts in its own right, limiting its last two opponents to an average of 54 points on a combined 34 percent shooting.
