HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team concluded their fall schedule playing in the final day of the UH-HPU Invitational – Part 2 on Saturday morning at the UH Tennis Complex.
Although Hawai'i fell in all three doubles matches, UH's Andy Hernandez and Cole Kurata gave their all, losing in a tiebreaker to Hawai'i Pacific's Jakub Beran and Mile Matic, 7-6 (4).
In singles, Hawai'i's Hernandez won his third singles match of the weekend. He held off HPU's Jack Wang by a break in both sets, 6-6, 7-5. UH's Guillaume Tattevin bounced beck after dropping the first set to defeat the Sharks' Mile Matic in a third set, super tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-1, 1-0 (3). Newcomer Andrew Somerville won his first set over HPU's Tanguy Calicis, but fell in a third set super tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-0, 1-0 (1).
The Rainbow Warriors will open the 2023 season on Jan. 7 against Florida State at the UH Tennis complex
