KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'i – Mayumi Umezu carded an even par 73 to lead the University of Hawai'i women's golf team in Round 2 of the Pac-12 Preview Tuesday at the Nanea Golf Club.
The sophomore from Waimea, Hawai'i posted two birdies and two bogeys on her round and sits in a tie for 26
th place at 3-over 139. Hyeonji Kang is the highest UH golfer on the leaderboard at 2-over 148 after a 5-over 78 on Tuesday. Kang is tied for 20
th place heading into Wednesday's final round.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine shot 312 for a 614 total and 12
th place. Top-ranked Stanford moved atop the team leaderboard at 14-under 570 followed by sixth-ranked Oregon (579), 13
th-ranked Arizona (580), 22
nd-ranked Arizona State (586), and California (587).
Stanford's Rose Zhang holds the individual lead at 9-under 137. Oregon's Ashleigh Park is two strokes back.
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are Wendy Song (79=156, 49
th), Focus Jonglikit (82=161, 56
th), and Monica Johnson (89=168, 59
th).
Wednesday's final round begins with a 7:30 a.m. HT shotgun start.
