TULSA, Okla.--University of Hawai'i men's tennis player, 24th-ranked
Andre Ilagan is moving up at the ITA Men's All-American Championships after sweeping No. 121 Dan Martin in straight sets on Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Courts in Tulsa, Okla.
In Thursday's Round of 32 Main Draw match, Ilagan edged out Miami's Martin in a first-set tie-breaker, but then coasted in the second frame for the victory, 7-6 (4), 6-2. With the win, Ilagan advances to the Round of 16 where he fill take on North Carolina's 43rd-ranked Ryan Seggerman on Friday (time TBD). Including last year's All-American Championships, Ilagan has now defeated eight ranked players in the national tournament.
