th-ranked and fourth-seeded
Andre Ilagan won his Main Draw Round of 16 match but fell in the Quarterfinal Round of the ITA Southwest Regional on Saturday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
Ilagan took on 56
th-ranked and ninth-seeded Patrick Zahraj in the Round of 16. Ilagan held off the UCLA Bruin in a first set tiebreaker but fell by a break in the second before dispatching Zahraj, 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-1. In the quarterfinals, Ilagan fell to No. 77 and 12
th-ranked Herman Hoeyeraal of Arizona in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 to end his tourney run.
In the Consolation Round of 32, UH's
Axel Labrunie hung on to defeat UC Santa Barbara's Glanluca Brunkow in a third set super-tiebreaker, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (5). In the Consolation Round of 16, Labrunie dropped the first set in a tiebreaker to UCLA's Azuma Visaya. Labrunie fought back to take Set 2 by a break then fell in a third set super-tiebreaker, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (4).
