MALIBU, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team heads off to Malibu, Calif. to compete in the ITA Southwest Regional, hosted by Pepperdine at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center from Thursday, Oct. 20 - Monday, Oct. 24. 

In all, seven Rainbow Warriors will be competing in singles while three pairs will start in the Round of 64 in doubles. In doubles, UH's Andy Hernandez and Killian Maitre will take on San Diego State's Liam Spiers and Andrew Saleh, while Andre Ilagan and partner Karl Collins will battle the Aztecs' duo of Eugenio Gonzalez and Mathieu Josserand. Hawai'i's final pair of Axel Labrunie and Guillaume Tattevin will start thigs off against Joseph Leather and Bastiaan Weststrate of Cal Poly. All doubles matches will begin at 6:00 a.m. HT.

For the singles tournament, both the Rounds of 128 and 64 will be played on Thursday. Two  Rainbow Warriors, Ilagan and Labrunie, will begin the tourney with a Round of 128 bye and will face winners of an opening round match later on Thursday afternoon. Five Hawai'i players will begin action in the Round of 128. Maitre will play UC San Diego's Jeff Cole, while Hernandez faces Alexander Watanabe Eriksson of UC Santa Barbara. UH's Collins and Cal Poly's Zachary Pellouchoud will square off as Cody Castro takes on Grand Canyon's Stanislaus De Samucewicz. Tattevin will battle Brandon Park of UC Irvine.
