HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded its UH 'Anuenue Invitational on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex.
There were only three matches (two singles and one doubles) on tap for Saturday. In singles, both
Klara Novakova and
Rita Pinto recorded straight-set victories. Novakova defeated Hawai'i Pacific's Abi Wild, 6-3, 6-3, while UH's Pinto blanked the Sharks' Rikona Murakami, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, UH's pair of
Madison Kim and
Anna Kern won two sets over HPU's Murakami and Wild, 6-1, 6-4.
Hawai'i's
Alexis Merrill was leading Hawai'i Pacific's Abi Wild, 6-4, 3-1 when the lone match on Friday was suspended due to inclement weather. It was not completed on Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the ITA Southwest Regional hosted by the University of San Diego at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. The five-day tournament runs from Thursday, Oct. 20 - Monday, Oct. 24.
