HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team concluded Day 2 of the UH-HPU Invitational – Part 1 on Saturday morning at the UH Tennis Complex. Four Rainbow Warriors finished their matches which were suspended due to inclement weather on Friday, before beginning Round 3 in singles and a second round of doubles matches.
 
Hawai'i's Andy Hernandez was the lone Rainbow Warrior who won his suspended match with a sweep over Hawai'i Pacific's Jakub Beran, 6-3, 6-3
 
In Saturday's doubles matches, two of UH's pairs were victorious. Hawai'i's Kilian Maitre and Hernandez defeated the Sharks' Jack Wang and Mile Matic, 6-3, while UH's duo of Guillaume Tattevin and Karl Collins defeated Sohta Urano and Riku Ogasawara, 6-3.
 
In Saturday's singles matches for Round 3, three Rainbow Warriors notched wins over their HPU counterparts. UH's Tattevin won in straight sets over Ogasawara, 7-5, 6-3 in Group A action. In Group B, both Cody Castro and Collins and notched wins. Collins swept HPU's Urano, 6-3, 6-2, while Castro cruised past Tanguy Caliclis, 6-3, 6-1.
 
Hawai'i will resume the UH-HPU Invitational in Part 2 of the tourney from Nov. 5-6 at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Rainbow Warriors will now head to the ITA Regionals at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. The five-day tourney runs from Thursday, Oct. 20 – Monday, Oct. 24.
