WESTLAKE, Calif.—Members of the University of Hawai'i men's tennis team wrapped up play in the Rancher Invitational on Sunday at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake, Calif.
The Rainbow Warriors only competed in singles on the final day. The 'Bows swept three of their opponents from UNLV, while Simao Telo Alves fell to Pepperdine's Corrado Summaria, 6-3, 6-3. Hawai'i's winning trio was led by
Axel Labrunie who nearly blanked UNLV's Anton Ornber, 6-1, 6-0.
Andre Ilagan held off the Rebels' Zac Brodney in straight sets, 7-6 (3), 6-3 and UH's
Blaz Seric defeated UNLV's Milos Dabic by a break in both sets, 6-4, 6-4.
The Rainbow Warriors return home for a scrimmage against HPU on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 3:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
