IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team placed seven members on the All-Big West teams as selected by the league's six head coaches.
For the second consecutive year, the same four Rainbow Warriors were named to the first team – opposite
Rado Parapunov, middle blocker
Patrick Gasman, libero
Gage Worsley, and outside hitter
Colton Cowell. UH and UC Santa Barbara led all Big West teams with four honorees among the 14-member first team.
Gasman, a senior from Clovis, Calif., is the conference's first four-time first-team honoree while Worsley and Parapunov are three-time recipients. Cowell was named to the first team for the second straight year.

The Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards will be announced next week.
Parapunov, the frontrunner for Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, leads the Big West in kills (4.52 avg.) and points (5.39) and ranks fourth in blocks (0.94), fifth in hitting percentage (.367) and aces (0.33) and ninth in digs (1.59). The Sofia, Bulgaria native has earned the conference's player of the week award four times this season and a record 14 times in his career.
Gasman leads the Big West in hitting percentage (.497) and is second in blocks (1.30). The Clovis, Calif., native received defensive player of the week honors once this season and four times in his career. He is among the program's all-time leaders in block assists (410), total blocks (459), matches played (121) and wins (103).
Worsley was the only libero named to the first team. The Moraga, Calif., native ranks third in the Big West in digs per set (2.30) and has only 12 reception errors in 329 attempts.
Cowell is sixth in the Big West in kills (3.12), sixth in points (3.71) and ninth in aces (0.29). More importantly, his value comes in the serve-receive game where he ranks second on the team in aces (14) and first in reception percentage (.967), with only eight errors in 246 attempts.
Galloway, a freshman from San Diego, Calif., and Thelle, a sophomore from Tonsberg, Norway, are in their first seasons as full-time starters for the Warriors. Galloway is third on the team in kills (2.28) and ranks ninth in the Big West in hitting percentage (.344). Thelle is one of only two setters among the 19 players represented and is second in the Big West in assists (10.63) while running the nation's top offense.
Chakas, a true freshman from Nea Smyrni, Greece, has appeared in 13 matches, making four starts, including both in the UC San Diego non-conference series that helped him earn Big West Freshman of the Week honors in February.
