HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team closes out the home portion of its schedule with Big West Conference matches against UC Irvine, Saturday, April 3 and UC San Diego, Monday, April 5 at the UH Tennis Complex. Seniors Lucas Labrunie, Tristan Martins, and Blaz Seric will be honored following Monday's match.
 
The Rainbow Warriors (2-2, 1-2 Big West) return to their Manoa campus after a tough California road trip against Big West Conference opponents Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara. Hawai'i managed to take two points from Cal Poly but faced strong opposition in singles against the Gauchos, capturing one point in a series of hotly contested matches. 
 
Labrunie is a three-year scholar-athlete, who earned second-team all-Big West honors in singles and doubles in 2019. This season, the Paris, France native is 2-2 in singles and has won three of his four doubles matches. Martins, also from Paris, France, is a four-year letterwinner who was a mainstay at Courts 5 and 6 throughout his career. 
 
Seric will receive his bachelor's degree however will return next season to compete for the Rainbow Warriors.

Freshman Axel Labrunie leads the team in singles wins (3) playing at the No. 4 court. In doubles, each of UH's primary partners including the No. 1 duo of Andre Ilagan and Lucas Labrunie sports a 2-1 record. Overall, the 'Bows have had a strong showing in the doubles play this season, winning 11 of the 14 matches. 

UC Irvine, UH's opponent on Saturday, is currently 5-5 overall after falling to Cal Poly, 5-2, in the Anteaters' first Big West match of the season. Hawai'i will look to snap a six-match losing streak to UCI. The Warriors will host winless UC San Diego (0-4) on Monday, marking the first meeting between the teams since UCSD transitioned to Division I status.
 
Following this week's matches, the Warriors will play their final match of the 2021 season in Davis, Calif., against UC Davis, April 10 at 10:00 a.m. HT.
