Greensboro, N.C.—Competition wrapped on Saturday at the Toyota U.S. Open inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center with two swimmers in action from the University of Hawai'i.
Senior
Ian Venter, who placed at No. 7 in the A Final of the 100 backstroke the day before, and was in action again with the 200 backstroke. Venter placed first in the B Final with a time of 2:03.50. The first-place finish was the first and only UH swimmer in the Open to capture a top finish in any event.
Graduate
Anna Kotonen worked her way into two separate A Finals over the previous days, and on the final day, she placed second in the C Final of the 100 free. Kotonen finished with a time of 57.28.
Next up for the 'Bows will be the Wally Nakamoto Invitational scheduled for January 6th to the 8th. It'll be the only home event of the season for UH at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
