VALENCIA, Calif. – University of Hawai'i freshman 
Tyler Ogawa fired a 4-under 68 in blistery conditions in Round 1 of the Bill Cullum Invitational Monday at The Oaks Club at Valencia.
 
Ogawa sits in a tie for 14
th place at 4-over 148 after a second round 80 pushed him back 11 spots down the leaderboard. The Honolulu, O'ahu native posted six birdies and two bogeys on his opening round in his first full-field collegiate event since graduating from Kalani High School. 
 
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors are in 12
th place in the team standings at 637. Host CSUN holds the lead at 579 followed by Utah State (585) and Cal State Fullerton (594). UC Santa Barbara's Brian Arnold, competing as an individual, holds a three-stroke lead at 6-under 138 heading into Tuesday's third and final round.
