HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – University of Hawai'i junior
Hana Mirnik posted a season-low 4-under 68 to lead the Rainbow Wahine to tie for seventh place at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate Sunday at the Highlands Ranch Golf Course.
Mirnik carded three birdies and an eagle to tie for the low round of the day among the 87 golfers in the field. The Slovenia native vaulted up to a tie for 16
th place at 1-over 217. As a team, UH shot even par 288 for a 878 total, which moved them up two spots.
Fellow Big West member Cal Poly captured the team title in the 15-team field with a 849 total while ETSU's Tereza Melecka took medalist honors at 9-under 207.
UH freshman
Hyeonji Kang shot even par 72 and tied for 20
th with a 2-over 218 total. Freshman
Monica Johnson and
Focus Jonglikit each shot 74 and tied for 61
st at 229. Freshman
Momo Sugiyama carded her second straight 77 for a 226 total and tie for 52
nd.
The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 25-27 at the Kapolei Golf Course.
