Kotaro Murata shot a final round 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for 10
th place at the 29
th Amer Ari Intercollegiate Saturday at Waikoloa Resort's Kings Course.
The Matsuyama, Japan native concluded the tournament with three rounds under par for a 9-under 207 total. Murata finished four strokes behind Pepperdine's William Mouw and Arizona State's Mason Andersen, who tied for medalist honors at 13-under 203. Mouw defeated Andersen in a one-hole playoff for the individual title.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors finished in 19
th place at 885 following a final round 303. Top-ranked Pepperdine claimed the team title by two strokes over Texas. The Waves rallied to win the tournament with a 270 on Saturday for a 825 total.
