Game Story Lines
- This will be just the fifth regular-season meeting between the teams. Three of the meetings have occurrerd in the last six years.
- Friday's game will mark the first time since 1982 that UH will open the regular-season against a Division II team. The 'Bows beat UH Hilo 98-64 in that year.
- UH has won 10 of its last 11 season openers and have done it convincingly with all 10 wins coming by double-digits.
- The contest will count towards the win-loss record for the Rainbow Warriors. The game will serve as an exhibition for the Sharks.
- The 'Bows return six letterwinners from last year's 17-13 squad, including sophomore guard Justin Webster (8.8 ppg, 38 3-pointers).
- Seven newcomers join the squad this year coming from the prep (2), junior college (2) and Division I levels (3).
- UH plays for the first time in the newly-renamed SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
