CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 1-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team needed another magical comeback to remain unbeaten on the season after a four-set win over 12
th-ranked Loyola Saturday in Gentile Arena. Set scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 27-25.
For the second straight night, the Rainbow Warriors (7-0) dropped the first set but rallied back for the victory. This time, UH nearly fell behind 2-0 in the match but out-scored the Ramblers, 8-3 down the stretch in Set 2 to even the match. Hawai'i also erased two set points in Set 4 with back-to-back blocks to close out the match.

Rado Parapunov and senior outside hitter
Colton Cowell led the way with career highs in kills. Parapunov tallied 23 kills, hitting .429 with two aces, and five blocks. Cowell, who missed Friday's match at Lewis, finished with 19 kills at a .368 clip with two aces and eight digs. As a team, the Warriors hit .367 with 12.5 blocks and six aces.

Guilherme Voss each had seven kills and combined for nine blocks. For the second straight night, redshirt freshman setter

Chaz Galloway rallied the team off the bench. Sheward finished with 39 assists and five digs while Galloway added three kills and three blocks.
The Ramblers (1-5) were led by Cole Schlothauer's 16 kills. Luke Denton added 14 kills and two aces.
Down a set and trailing 20-17 late in Set 2, the Warriors went to their stars as Cowell (3 kills) and Parapunov (2 kills, 1 block) came up big during an 8-3 run to close out the set and even the match. UH reeled off four straight to take a 23-22 lead and on set point, Galloway and Gasman teamed up to block Piekarski.
With momentum on its side, Hawai'i jumped out to a 9-6 lead in Set 3. The lead was 12-8 after a kill and block by Galloway on consecutive plays. The Warriors extended the lead to 17-10 by stringing together four straight which included a Parapunov ace and Gasman kill. Loyola got within three at 21-18 but
Dimitrios Mouchlias' second ace extended the lead back to five and Gasman ended it with his sixth kill.
In Set 4, the Ramblers led 12-8 forcing an early UH timeout. Then Parapunov came to life with back-to-back kills and a block to tie it at 14. Another kill followed by an ace put UH on top. The teams traded side-outs until the end when Parapunov's 24
th kill tied it at 25. Voss and Sheward stuffed Devin Joslyn to give the Warriors match-point and Cowell and Voss teamed to block Schlothauer to end it.
After a day off on Sunday, the Warriors return to the court against Lincoln Memorial, Monday, Jan. 20 in Harrogate, Tenn., followed by a match-up at King, Tuesday, Jan. 21 in Bristol, Tenn.
