Melounova To Compete In Oracle ITA Masters

TEMPE, Ariz.--University of Hawai"i women's tennis player, No. 33 Petra Melounova has been selected to play in the elite Oracle ITA Masters tournament that runs from Sept. 26-29. The prestigious tournament will be hosted by the Malibu Racquet Club and Pepperdine University.

The tournament, now in its fifth year of existence, features the top NCAA Division I players in a 32-player singles draw. Invitees were selected based on conference affiliation, with each conference having the opportunity to send its top returning player. The main draws will be announced on Wednesday.

The men's and women's singles champions will earn automatic entry into the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships scheduled for Nov. 6-10 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Melounova became the Rainbow Wahine's first-ever All-American last season after advancing to the Round of 16 in last season's NCAA Singles Championship.
