NORMAN, Okla. – For the second consecutive year and third time in the last four years, the University of Hawai'i men's golf team received the Golf Coaches Association of America Outstanding Team Academic honors by finishing with a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
UH was one of 193 schools across all collegiate divisions to submit GPAs of 3.0 or above. A total of 32 of those schools earned Presidents Special Recognition Honors, finishing with a team GPA of 3.5 or above.
To be eligible for GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors, a college or university must submit GPAs for each player on their official squad list for the academic year. Newberry (NCAA Division II) finished with the top overall GPA in all divisions, finishing the 2018-19 season with a 3.84 team GPA.
Hawai'i was the only team in the Big West Conference to be recognized among the 138 Division I schools with 3.0 or higher.
