COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A record seven University of Hawai'i football student-athletes were recipients of the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award.
Among the recipients was four-time honoree, senior long snapper
Noah Borden. Junior punter
Ben Scruton earned his third award while senior running back
Genta Ito was named to the list for the second time.
First-time honorees include
Kamuela Borden,
Michael Boyle,
Hekili Keliiliki and
KK Padello.
A league-record 867 student-athletes were honored with the award, which is considered one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
Football is UH's only MW sponsored sport.
